For decades, only five regions were taken seriously in the world of whisky: Scotland, Ireland, the US, Canada, and Japan. Taiwan wasn't even part of the conversation. The climate is wrong and the traditions don't work. But starting in 2002, the whisky started flowing. This episode follows the rise of Taiwanese whisky, from its unlikely beginnings to a new wave of independent distillers challenging what whisky can be.
