FRαNKIE阿法 - 白眼

This is one of two music videos we shot for FRαNKIE阿法 with director Ainsley Myles, and on both of them our involvement was the camera and the visual effects rather than the production as a whole. Owning the image on somebody else’s project is a different discipline to running the entire show, because the job stops being about authorship and starts being about serving a director’s idea precisely while leaving every frame in a state that the effects work can still build on afterwards.

The video was made to sit alongside the track rather than to explain it, which is usually the way these collaborations work best. Lighting and camera were handled on the day by a small crew who could reset quickly between setups, and the visual effects were kept deliberately close to the photography so that they read as part of the image instead of as a layer sitting on top of it.
